Memorial Day Lantern Floating Hawaii - Video

Each year in addition to the traditional Memorial Day ceremonies in Hawaii, 40,000 people gather at Ala Moana Beach Park on Oahu. 5,000 people place their floating lanterns with messages (or just a name) in the bay to allow them a personal moment to remember, reflect and offer gratitude to those who have gone before us.
It’s a very interesting ceremony, and I thought you might like to see it.  If the Hawaiian music and chanting are a little too much for you, just fast forward to 1:22.

Millikan High renames building for David Radford - Class of 1957

Webmaster Note:   After hosting the Millikan Alumni web site for the past 11, almost 12, years I'm looking for someone who would like to take it over.   It originally started with our reunion, and I just haven't had the heart to take it down.  As you can see, it has really grown over the years and needs a major revamp.  As far as the cost goes, it's about $70 a year for the web hosting.  Since I live in Hawaii, I would not be able to teach anyone how to do it so you must have some computer skills.  Keep in mind, it would make a great hobby for you!  I will continue updating until someone steps forward.

Aloha,

Paul Prosise, Millikan Alumni Webmaster

Millikan Vets Memorial

Chris Greta, Class of 76 started www.HeroBracelets.org to honor the sacrifices made by America's volunteer armed forces. Putting their lives on hold for dangerous duty is a brave thing to do, and we admire them all for it.
