Sharon Colenso Noice
E-Mail Address: sharon.j.noice@boeing.com
OCCUPATION(s): Office Administrator C-17 Program @
Boeing Long Beach. Hired in 1980 when it was still Douglas Aircraft.
I just celebrated my 17th year. I was laid off from 1992 to 1995
otherwise I would have 20 years with the company.
Message to Classmates: Hi everyone! Somehow I have volunteered
again to work on yet another high school reunion committee. This
is probably my fourth high school reunion committee that I have
helped support. Being on the committee has been rewarding, fun
and a way to keep in touch with old friends from the past.
School Activities:Vice President of Adonis Welfare Club
(off campus)
Life Update: After graduation I enrolled in Beauty College
with Linda Harvey and Jolynn Holton who also graduated in 1960.
After listening to old lady's wanting to look like some movie
star they cut out of a magazine, Linda and JoLynn quit. But,
I decided I was in too deep to give up and I graduated a year
later. I met my husband Blaine during my senior year. He graduated
from Wilson in 1960. We were married in 1963 and will be celebrating
our 37th wedding anniversary in June 2000. We have two sons Vincent
(35) and Brent (30) who both work at Boeing. My husband will
be celebrating his 27th year with the company in October. We
have two beautiful granddaughters Sarah (11) and Stephanie (8).
We keep tossing the idea around to retire, but so far we haven't
decided which is better having money and less time, or having
more time and less money. It's a catch 22.
I have had numerous jobs in the past 30 years. Hair Stylist,
Medical Receptionist for a Pediatrician and receptionist for
Dermatologist. Loan Secretary in a bank, Blue Print Analyst here
at Boeing now an Office Administrator for a Director of Production
Systems. I just celebrated my 17th year anniversary with Boeing
in March.
Hobbies/Fun: Internet Browsing, Crafts, Interior Decorating,
Shopping, Gardening and my new adventure China Painting.
Car - Militant Days: I didn't have my own car until after
graduation. I use to drive my parents brand new 1959 Old's to
school in my Senior year. Of course you have to remember it didn't
have power steering and it was huge. So, picture this (85) pound
5'2'' blond driving around this gigantic car and parking was
even a greater challenge. After graduation from Millikan my dad
bought me a '49 chevy. It was painted Metallic Green and it was
a stick shift. My first experience driving stick shift after
driving an automatic. I had it for two years until a friend of
ours burn up the motor on the freeway.
